The Northern Air Temple was one of the four temples of the Air Nomads, and one of the two, the other being the Southern Air Temple, exclusively housing male Airbenders. It is located in the upper reaches of the northern Earth Kingdom. Like the Southern Air Temple, it also has an Air Temple Sanctuary. It looks similar to the Southern Air Temple, but the Southern Air Temple has more colorful walls, and seems to be more elaborately decorated.

The Eastern Air Temple is one of the four temples of the Air Nomads, and one of the two, the other being the Western Air Temple, which exclusively housed female Airbenders. Unlike the Northern and Southern Air temples, the Eastern Air temple is housed on three separate mountains, connected by bridges. Sky Bisons used to locate in this area though now they rarely come out from their hiding.

Ba Sing Se is the titanic capital of the Earth Kingdom, wherein it encompasses nearly all of the northeastern corner. The city is by far the largest city in any of the Four Nations, essentially being more of a small country than a mere city. The Current Earth Kingdom's 56th Earth Empress is named Yazuna.

Omashu is the second largest city in the Earth Kingdom and the capital of one of its provinces. The city was also very well known for its famous delivery system powered by Earthbending and gravity. Omashu is located in the Kolau Mountain Range in the southwestern Earth Kingdom. The city is built on a number of hills, and is surrounded by a wide gorge. Omashu is heavily fortified.

Gaoling is a large town located within a mountain range in the southern Earth Kingdom.

Gaoling is home to both the wealthy Bei Fong family and the Earth Rumble tournaments. An old, well-established city, Gaoling has a spectrum of people residing in it, ranging from the very rich to the very poor.

The Si Wong Desert is the largest desert in the world. It is known as the driest and hottest place in the world, and is almost impossible to successfully navigate. It is sparsely inhabited by Sandbender tribes. The desert is located in the middle of the Earth Kingdom.

The Great Divide is the largest canyon in the world. It is located in the rocky regions of the central Earth Kingdom. The Great Divide can be crossed in about a full day if one has an expert guide. Some believe that the canyon was a natural result of millions of years of erosion, while local belief holds that the canyon was first formed by angered Earth Spirits who lacked proper sacrifices from local farmers.

Wulong Forest is a forest that lies on the coast of the western regions of the Earth Kingdom. It is notable for the hundreds of rock columns that tower over the landscape.

Also known simply as The Swamp, it is a vast, mysterious wetland which covers a very large area of the southwest Earth Kingdom. The swamp is very densely packed with with a great variety of creatures, including: the glowing fly, elbow leech, blood sucking insects, screeching birds, and the catgator, a cross between a catfish and an alligator.

The Boiling Rock is a massive Fire Nation prison. Its name is derived from the fact that the prison is on an island in the middle of a boiling lake on a volcanic island. The Boiling Rock is where the most dangerous prisoners in the Fire Nation are held, domestic and foreign alike. Some examples of prisoners held here include robbers, traitors, and war prisoners.

Fire Fountain City is a large, industrial city located in the Fire Nation. It is located on one of the many islands in the eastern half of the Fire Nation. The city is one of the many industrial towns in the Fire Nation that supports the war effort. Many factories are located in the city, and pollution is extensive. The city is a working class town with very seedy elements. It is considered unsafe to walk around Fire Fountain City at night, so most citizens stay indoors.

Shu Jing is a town located in the Fire Nation. Situated on a cliff above a river and waterfalls, and surrounded by beautiful mountains, this is one of the many small, peaceful villages that are tucked away throughout the Fire Nation islands.

Jang Hui is a small, poor village located in the outer islands of the Fire Nation. Located on the Jang Hui river, this unique Fire Nation village is made up of floating houseboats connected together.

Crescent Island is an uninhabited island in the outer Fire Nation that once housed a temple for the Fire Sages and a shrine to Avatar Roku. The Fire Temple was the only structure on the island. The temple was built on the island so that it aligned with the solstices and equinoxes, and housed a branch of the Fire Sages.

Ember Island is a small resort located in the outer islands of the Fire Nation. It is home to many luxurious resorts and vacation homes for the wealthy and powerful. The beaches are among the most popular in the country, and host many popular Kuai Ball games.

The Southern Water Tribe is the southern division of the Water Tribe. Its people are scattered in tiny villages and settlements located across the South Pole. The Southern Tribe was formerly concentrated in one great city. Unlike its northern sister tribe, the people of the Southern Water Tribe are teetering on the edge of extinction, with almost no warriors or defenses left.
