He opened his eyes in a low fashion and looked around him. He knew that the cooler would drain him, but never as much as it did. He was lucky that he had been able to firebend even in the sprinkle of water that happened every ten minutes. He had been counting, and he knew how long the cold hearted woman had kept him in there. As he was put into his cell, he looked around, he didn't care if the food was cold or not, it was food, and he was truly hungry after that ordeal.
Because he was too tired and drained from his time in the cooler, he knew that he had missed his chance to make Plan A work, and now, even as frustrated as he was that he couldn't make his time at the Boiling Rock a short one, he was glad that he had more time to make contingency plans in case Plans B and C failed. He sat down on his bed and pulled the tray over to him, and looked at the food. Rice and meat, a meal fit for a prisoner like himself. He saw that there was nothing to eat them with, but that didn't matter. He picked up the bowl and started spooning it into his mouth with his hand while looking out the window. As the warden had promised, there was a beautiful sunset coming from outside, and his smiled softly to himself.
"Plan A, break myself out of the cooler and find my bounty with the paperwork in the warden's office, along with the schedule of when the next boat or air ship would be arriving and leave with it, a total failure," he said to himself, picking up the meat and bending a small flame under it to reheat it before taking a bite out of it. "Plan B, gather as much information as I can from the other inmates, and find my pray, then make our way out if possible, currently underway," Hiro smirked to himself, looking around his room. As she had said, it was also a bit larger than the other rooms that he had seen on his way to the cooler. The bed in the room was made of stone with a mattress on it, probably so he couldn't use it as a weapon against the warden.
"Let's see, the guard that gave me the information on the island told me that the warden's office was on the ground floor, and I'm at least six floors above that. Hmmm, this is going to be more difficult than I had hopped, at least I could have gotten into her room as a guard when she wasn't in there, but now I'm stuck in this cell until morning, or until that witch decides to do something more treacherous to me anyway. I should get some rest and wait to see what happens before I make my plans to escape," he thought to himself, laying down on the bed and resting for a moment. "Welcome to the Boiling Rock, Hiro. Your stay won't be an easy one," he said to himself, a smirk still on his face, enjoying this game of cat and mouse with the warden. He had to have annoyed her more by taking the crystal from around her neck. Not because the crystal was special to her, even if it was, but because he had taken it without her knowing.
"The most secure things, are always the easiest to lose, let's see if you remember my warning princess," Hiro thought before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

~Next Day~ All Prisoners have been moved to the Yard.~Yet another sunny day over the Boiling Rock, yet again most of that sun light was blocked by the steam that rose from the water. Guards were stationed around the upper cat walk that towered over the courtyard that held the Prisoners. All 237. 189 of them were fire benders, and the rest were non-benders. Fire Benders were forbidden to use fire bending whilst being prisoners and all guards were fire benders. Mostly military washouts or those that were not cut out to even get into the military.
Most of the prisoners had separated themselves into groups to hang out in, whilst a few others were loners. There was nothing given to the prisoners and it was a mixed gender prison. Whatever happened between the genders was something closely monitored and recorded. But the technical aspect of the prison is such a boring thing to think about.
A few guards stood at attention as the Warden walked out. She wore her normal outfit, and a smile on her face. She walked to the railing and looked down at the prisoners. "How is everything?" she asked no one in particular. "It appears good Ma'am, no riots or disturbances all day. "Good Good" she clapped her hands together with a smile. She continued to stand there and simply watch the prisoners like a spider watching her pray.

He needed information from them and he didn't need the warden pestering him while he did that. "I suppose Plan B being forced upon me was a better thing than I had hoped," he thought to himself, a smirk on his face as he walked through them.
He saw someone that was just sitting there, alone, and figured they'd be the best place to start. "Oi, you, the muscle bound moron that looks like he's about to cry, would you mind telling me everything you know about this prison?" he a asked, walking up to the man and crossing his arms. Needless to say, the man was not happy with the way Hiro addressed him and stood up quickly, standing over Hiro in a very threatening tone.
"Are you talking to me, fresh meat?" he asked, getting in Hiro's face and smirking about it. He didn't know who the person that had insulted him was, but he didn't care, he'd easily beat him and have him sent to the infirmary. He was after all the man that the Warden had tried to kill the most since his stay there and survived the longest.
"Fresh meat? I'd much rather you call me by my alias," Hiro said, smirking up at the man, his eyes closed. After speaking, Hiro opened his eyes half way and stared directly into the man's eyes. "The Cold Flame, if you forget it, there will be no forgiving you," he warned, his eyes cold and hard as he looked at the man.
The man stared back into Hiro's eyes before getting scared and angry. Like a caged animal would if threatened, he attacked. He swung a normal fist at Hiro, only to end up hitting air. "You don't know me, do you?" Hiro asked, raising an eyebrow as he dodged the attack with a simple duck. Before the man could swing again, Hiro was behind him his hand on the pressure points on the man's neck, not putting any pressure on them yet. "My name, is Hiro, The Cold Flame. Forgetting it can be deadly," he whispered, an evil smirk on his face.
"Now, tell me what I want to know, or you're going to be on the ground until a guard finds you, which could be hours, and that could be too late," Hiro said, letting the man's pressure points go free and walking back around him. The man's eyes were wide with fear. When the Warden attacked him, or sent him to some sort of torture chamber, he knew what he could expect before he was attacked. This man, Hiro, he was nearly unpredictable to him, and that was the more terrifying thing that he had seen since he came to this prison.
"A-Alright, I'll talk, I'll talk! What do you want to know!" he asked Hiro, bowing and shaking a little. He was afraid that if he didn't do what he said, that he'd be in big trouble.
"Well, I'd like to know a few simple things for starters. Where are the prisoner records, what secrets about this place do you know, and how often do new prisoners come in?" Hiro asked, walking a couple feet away from the man and gesturing for him to follow him. The man hurriedly got up and rushed after Hiro, talking up a storm about everything he knew, Hiro nodding as they walked.
He'd rather not have them look different from the other inmates to the guards walking around or the warden if she was watching.

The inmate started blabbering about whatever he knew. The Warden was the only person allowed in her office, only way to get her attention was to ring a bell. The guards switch shifts one at a time, there was never a time a guard was not at a point. New Inmates came almost at random, sometimes twice a week, and others never seen for months at a time. It would just be all of a sudden that guards moved and then the gondola would move in. Guards would leave off the island at night when needed to go home. Otherwise guards lived on the island.
The Warden had all the papers on anything and everyone in her office. The inmate even rambled a bit about the rumors of platypus-bears being housed in steel pits and used to torment inmates who were thrown into them... but this was just a rumor. The inmate seemed a bit nervous telling this Cold Flame all this information, but this guy scared him enough to keep him rambling on and on.
“…” Hyun Ok yawned and held her hand out grabbing a cup that was being held out to her, “Thank you” she mused taking a sip of the dark liquid inside the cup. “Ah better” she smiled taking another sip as she watched the inmates, “Ma’am, if this air is uncomfortable to you, I suggest you go back inside, it’s a lot hotter today.” A female guard suggested a bit of a quiver to her voice, “Ah I noticed that myself, Ming. But have no worry, it’s not as bad as it could be” she smiled taking another sip, “And besides I feel my presence is needed to watch over my prisoners” she chuckled softly smiling at the woman who paled and forced a smile nodding her head as she returned to attention next to the Warden.

When he got to the platypus-bears in cages, he raised an eyebrow and his eyes lit up a little. When the man was done rambling, he waved his hand to shu him away. "This is going to be quite interesting, that is for sure. I wonder what I can do to make princess show me what that man said are rumors. Of course, this is only if they're not rumors, which something tells me they may not be," he thought to himself, walking through the yard until he was standing at the gate that went back inside.
"Excuse me, I'd like to have some food brought out here to let all the inmates have a snack. There are a good number of them that look like they're ready to eat each other just so they don't starve," he said to the guard, standing far enough away that he could hear him, but not take him as a threat. "Excuse me, but who do you think you are? Why would we do what you asked just because you think something should happen? You're the inmate, we're the guards, we do what we want and what the warden says, not what you say," said the guard, walking up to him and sticking his face into Hiro's. Hiro blinked then sighed.
"Do it or I'm going to have to hurt you, and I'd much rather just rest on my second day here while I find my pray and plan my escape, so get busy," Hiro told the guard, turning around and taking a couple steps forward. The guard glared at him from behind and quickly shot two or three flames toward Hiro's back. This was not his best choice, but Hiro wasn't going to break any rules that were as petty as firebending. He would rather stay out of the coolers if he could help it. When the flames were close enough that he could feel them, he ducked down and spun around, kicking up a cloud of sand before standing back up and moving in the motions of bending, only not shooting any flames.
Doing so he was able to send a small shock wave of air from sheer strength, and the uncomfortable strain on his body to cause it, sending the cloud into the guards face. "Don't make me bend, I'd rather not go back into the coolers if I can help it, and I don't really feel up to starting a full scale riot yet. I don't know how good it would be to start a riot this soon, so just do as I say," he told the guard again, rubbing his shoulder. He sure couldn't stand to do that again, too much strain on his body.
Hiro started walking away again, only causing the guard to be more angered, and shooting out a fire whip of sorts, hitting the ground in front of Hiro by his side. Stopping, Hiro sighed and looked back at the man. "Get the Warden now, or I'm going to do something that no one will enjoy," he said, this time talking to a different guard that was watching the whole thing. This guard had watched Hiro's arrival the day before and knew not to mess with him, rushing into the building and up to where the Warden might have been.
When he found her, he huffed a little and stood at attention. "M-Ma'am, there seems to be an inmate requesting your presence down at the yard's entrance. He seems to be the one from yesterday," he said, gulping a little as he spoke, his voice shaking.

Hyun Ok had heard the commotion from below and sighed a bit into her cup as she already knew who was causing it. That Hiro guy was like a puppy peeing on the carpet every chance he got! “…” She listened to the sound of her guard Fire bending, moron, she would have him taught a lesson later, using Fire Bending to restrain or attack a prisoner who had not started the hassle was against her rules. She hated when anyone broke her rules. “…” she narrowed her eyes and held her cup out and let it go, a guard squeaked and leaped forward catching the cup before it struck the ground before backing away in a bow.
She straightened her shoulders as the guard rushed in to inform her that she was wanted. Hyun Ok swung around abruptly and slapped the back of her hand across the guard’s face. “…” her eyes were narrowed and her face in a sneer for a moment causing the guard to jump up and back up as she walked past him. She sighed again and put on a smile that never reached her eyes which were half open in a sleepy fashion.
Hyun Ok walked down the steps and then stood the doorway the guard was standing at. She did not even look at him but seemed to stare off across the Yard, even pass Hiro. “The next person, who leaves their post to fetch me instead of simply calling for the warden, will be taking a ‘bath’.” her voice was like ice though she smiled. The six guards around her froze before standing straight and shaking slightly. Hyun Ok closed her eyes before opening them toward Hiro, “You asked for my presence?” she smiled softly, “What can I do for my newest prisoner?” she asked, but did not let him answer, “Oh I know how about take you to your secondary cell… apparently two hours was not enough, and my you seem a bit over heated” she narrowed her indigo eyes at him piecing into his eyes like daggers. “How does that sound, Tanda?” she purred with an acidic tone.

"Ah, you misunderstand, I do not mean to disrupt your morning, I simply wished to inform you that this guard here was breaking your rules, and disrespecting myself, and you in doing so. I simply told him to give the prisoners food so they wouldn't kill one another, and he used his bending to attack me. I did not break your no bending rule ma'am. Besides, you wouldn't like your prisoners to kill one another, without yourself ordering them too that is, would you?" he asked, opening his eyes and looking back into her cold eyes with his own heated stare.
"Also, my dear warden, I would like to stay out of my secondary cell if I can. It's not as cozy as the one you were kind enough to give me you see, and it has a bit of a chill to it," he explained, lowering his arms and closing his eyes again, before turning away from her. "Besides those simple facts, I also do need to do my job, otherwise I wouldn't be much of a bounty hunter, now would I?" he added, simply walking off and not giving her a chance to say anything else.
Though he figured she would likely be sending a rock his way or a wall would appear in front of him at any time, he was being serious for a change, he did need to find the person he was here to get, otherwise this would all be a wasted experience and he'd have done it all for nothing.

Hyun Ok looked after Hiro as he walked away from her. A smile remained on her pale face, but her eyes were narrowed into slits. “….” A guard walked up to her nervously, “M-ma’am?” he asked quickly. “….heh” she chuckled darkly turning and walking back inside, “No one is to be fed tonight, and have it spread that it’s due to his actions…” she sighed pushed her hair from her face. She had shown the prisoner she was an earth bender, yet it was a new attempt at a ‘scaring’ technique that she seen has failed. But even if he told half these prisoners would not believe him.
The Warden placed her hands behind her back. “Also I want the names of any and all prisoners he shows extreme interest in..” she smirked. “Either we’ll narrow down who he’s after by wanted posters known, and if they have none then we focus on those he shows no interest in… either way, anyone with a bounty is to be moved out of his reach and I don’t care if you have to go to the Earth Kingdom yourself I want even the private bounties known to me by the end of tomorrow, understood?” she declared so no one but the seven guards surrounding her could hear her, they were all pale, “…understood?” she repeated and received various nods before they returned to their post.
Hyun Ok sighed and walked away going to her office. She locked the door and walked over to a panel that blended perfectly, nothing special or even a hint that would be noted. She pressed her heel swiftly against the ground causing the panel to jump up and move over. She moved down, covering the hole up by slapping her hand against the wall of the tunnel. She moved down the ladder into her real office. “…” she sat down at her desk and started to read over more files and papers.

Though he wanted to get Hyun Ok mad at him, he had thought that she would be so mad that she would do something to him.
"This isn't a good sign... I may have to cut my time here short," he thought to himself, walking into a large group of inmates as one of the guards yelled out. "The warden has said that there will be no food for any of you tonight, and it's all thanks to the new inmate with green hair. Have fun," were the guards words. Hiro stopped and sighed, knowing that this was going to make is finding his bounty even harder.
It was when he thought that that he saw a man, just barely out of the corner of his eye run away from him. He looked over just in time to see the man he was here for run into a larger crowed of inmates than the one that was surrounding him. "Dammit! There he goes, and now I can't," he started, getting ready to run after the man before a couple of the bigger inmates stood in his way. "You the reason I ain't got no food tonight?" one of them said, glaring down at Hiro with hatred in his eyes. "I think he is Ling. What do you suppose we do with him?" asked the other one smirking a cold and evil grin at Hiro as he spoke. Hiro was not in any mood to have to deal with these two morons, and sighed. "Out of the way you too, I just saw my pray and I have to go get him before the warden finds out who he is," Hiro said, moving them both aside with a quick shove and walking between them.
This wasn't the best choice as Hiro soon found, because both men grabbed his arms and held them behind his back. "Oh no, you're not going anywhere, we need to repay you for that little food stunt that you've pulled just now, so you get to..." the man started before Hiro glared at him with absolute rage in his eyes. This was the best chance he had of getting his bounty and himself off the island, and these two were holding him up. "Let go of me, or die," he said through gritted teeth. Both men looked from one another, then back at him and started laughing.
"Yeah right, you're a little new around here, I'm the strongest inmate in this whole place, and the Warden won't touch me because of it, she- MY HAND!" the man yelled, Hiro had had enough of these two, and he warned them. Hiro shot two flames into his hands and forced them against the hands of the men holding him.
As soon as they let him go, Hiro grabbed both of them by the neck, moved his feet between theirs and tripped them. Once they were on the ground, he started slowly bending heat into his hands and into their necks. "I warned you, and you didn't heed it. Do you know what happens to people that don't listen to my warnings?" he asked, calmly, his eyes still full of rage. "They have very bad things happen to them, and in your case, it's-" Hiro started, before feeling his arms being pulled from the men, their necks minorly burned as they got up and started running away from him. A couple of the guards had seen what he was doing and run over to stop him, both of them holding his arms far enough away from his body that he couldn't get a good motion to bend at them.
"Firebending is against the rules of the Boiling Rock, and trying to kill an inmate with it is even worse. You're going into the cooler!" yelled one of the guards that were dragging him away. "The Warden will decide how long you stay in there, but I can promise that it won't be to your liking," she said, pulling Hiro into the prison walls again. Just before he was all the way inside, Hiro looked to his left, and saw the man he was here to capture, standing there, watching him be dragged away.
It was now, Hiro was at his most enraged, and he couldn't stand not having his bounty already over with not, especially after seeing his pray with his own eyes just a few feet away from him.

The cooler in which Hiro was placed into had a constant stream of water drizzling down from the ceiling and walls. The floor had a solid layer of frost and ice to it as did the walls, but the water that poured in was warm enough at first to keep the holes from freezing over. Hiro’s shirt had also been ripped away causing him to be left in only his pants and shoes. “Enjoy your stay maggot, the Warden informed us to get you when she saw fit… Stay frosty” the woman guard laughed hard as she slammed the door. The female guard turned to another guard, “Don’t leave this post! If you do I’ll kill ya before The Warden gets the chance!” she shouted before walking off.
Another guard was rushing to the warden’s office to give her information on something he witnessed and then another guard confirmed. He hopped from foot to foot as he rang the bell like a mad man. “Warden! Ma’am!” he said banging on the door. The door swung open after a moment and the warden leaned back quickly to avoid getting a punch. “What?” she snapped the guard jumping back and bowing, “I-I have some possibly good information for you ma’am!” he declared. “Well?” she asked arms crossed with one hand reaching up and fiddling with her crystal. Her indigo eyes were narrowed as she listened to the information.
“… Why him?” she muttered to herself turning her back to the guard, “Thank you for this information, Ozin” she said waving her hand as a signal for him to leave as she walked back in her office slamming the door. She stood there for a moment thinking things over then moved down back to her office after locking the door. She sat on a comfortable chair as she thought things over a cold and sadistic smile slowly forming, then turning into a rather disturbing grin.

It was different from the last one as the water was warmer, and it would keep him alive longer. Though he'd have one heck of a chill if he was in here too long. "Hey, guard, what's your story, talk or I'll find a way to kill you from in here," he threatened through the door, looking out at the man standing there. As soon as he spoke, the man jumped a little, looking nervously over at Hiro. It was one of the men that had watched him the day before when he arrived, and had to have seen what he did to the much stronger looking inmates before he was thrown into his current situation.
"W-What do you want, Tanda?" asked the guard somewhat nervously, watching him to see if had anything in the cell with him other than the cold air and water. He didn't and that was enough for the guard to get a little gutsy. "I'm not allowed to talk to lowlifes like you. So just freeze in there and stay quiet," he said, turning away. He thought to himself that he was being smarter than Hiro by doing things like this, but it seemed to be far more wrong than he thought.
"Hey, do you know what happens if you change the heat in a room like this over and over again?" Hiro asked, clapping his hands together to keep blood flowing in them as he spoke. He didn't intend to do anything at all this time, he was too angry for any plans he may have been able to think of to work, and he knew that much. He wanted to scare the guard though, and maybe get the warden's attention from where ever she was.
"What? But, you can't bend fire in a cooler, especially not when there's a steady stream of water coming from them... Can you?" the man said, asking himself the last part as he looked over at the door. Just to show the man he was wrong, Hiro shot a small flame into the windowed door, making the guard jump a little. "S-Stop that or the Warden will do something worse to you!" he shouted at Hiro, his eyes getting big before he covered his mouth. He had been here for almost a year now, and though there were plenty of people that had said they'd escape on day one, all of them had found just how hard it really was to get out of here, and that the Warden made it a living hell every second of the day the longer they tried.
"What do you mean? The Cooler isn't the worst you people have?" Hiro asked, raising an eyebrow, looking out the window while bending a small flame in front of him to keep him warm enough that the chill didn't stiffen his body. However, before the guard could respond, the woman that had thrown Hiro into the cooler returned and glared at him through the window. "Hiro Tanda, you are a disgrace to the name Tanda, I'd help you if you could figure out who I was, but you're mind seems to have gone in the years you've been traveling," she said, ignoring the guard that was there who looked at her even more freaked out than he had been before.
Hiro stared through the window, his eyes growing bored as he looked at the woman on the other side. He didn't know her, at least, he didn't think he knew her. If he did, why didn't the warden do something about her? The woman covered the slot of the window to stop any light from going into the little cell, and yelled at the guard that was watching him in a muffled and unhearable sound.
Hiro sighed and started bending more fire in front of him before a small slot above the door opened and started streaming out water, making his flame go out fast.

~Skipping this thread ahead four days~
Note: I feel this thread is dragging out uselessly, today will be the day Hiro makes his move to get information from Hyun Ok’s ‘office’ and grabs his bounty, he will not know of her underground office… Seeing as not a single person knows about it, and there are no water benders in this prison be it guard or anyone. Simply have it be good Buttering luck that a new shipment of supplies is arriving and then he can use it to escape. He will escape, but his bounty will not… So write your post so your character can be on his merry way to the 4592815982741347 other non-linear timeline threads he’s in and my character can actually have some development on her vacation after this event.
Another Note: your character has sent most of his four days in and out of the cooler. Do with it what you will.
A new guard had been placed to watch over Hiro, due to the warden being fed up with actually taking any attention to the man. He was an utter annoyance and frankly not worth her time. She had her other guards placed around the area, but it was a holiday in the Fire Nation and the warden was feeling a bit generous with letting half her staff go home. Other then Hiro being isolated from all the prisoners the Warden had taken a bit of a step ahead of the firebender by doing something to someone she felt was his bounty... not kill him just taking a step of precaution.
Hyun Ok was making a bit of rounds, reading a pamphlet on an even tin the Earth Kingdom that a guard had told her about... Earth Rumble. It looked interesting to her and many higher ups in earth kingdom went there to gamble and such. It seemed like a good place to go when she had vacation time!
