Although life was tough in the poorest sector of the Earth Kingdom capital, she experienced the most satisfying childhood, at least for her, after she met the sweetest, gentlest, and most lovable person in her life--Yuan--her neighbor, whom she quickly made as her best friend. They were literally inseparable, that until their older years, their bond of friendship progressed to a bond of love and intimate affection. After a few years when Yuan turned sixteen, a startling revelation almost jeopardized the couple’s bond--Yuan was discovered to be the current incarnation of the Avatar, the bringer of peace and balance to the world. Hearing the news, Tu-Yin felt ambivalent at the situation. She was truly delighted and hopeful, having a great extent of trust at the Avatar, whom she has known for many years. But her heart feared that their love will be dragged on the rocks. Because of this, the couple came up with a way to keep their relationship amidst the Avatar Yuan’s duty to journey around the world to master the elements--Tu-Yin traveled with Yuan in his training. Two years after (which was twenty-three years ago) as Tu-Yin and the Avatar were traveling to the North Pole for the Avatar to learn Waterbending, the greatest fear of the world happened. A group of rogues raided their ship. Unbeknown to them, these savages were under the command of the Fire Nation who aimed to kill the Avatar and be born again in their nation. Knowing that the Avatar was a powerful bender, they resorted to wicked strategies. The raiders seized the Avatar’s loved one, Tu-Yin, for their own leverage. Unfortunately for the entire world, the Avatar Yuan chose love over himself and the rest of the people who put their trust on him. Indeed, Tu-Yin survived, while the fate of Avatar Yuan was horribly cut short. And thus, the new Avatar was born under the Fire Nation. Tu-Yin was totally devastated with the loss of her only man and with the guilt of causing the failure of the Avatar. She constantly blamed herself for the tragedy. Soon, they found out about the plans of the Fire Nation, which was to conquer the entire world while the blessing of the Avatar, also son of the Fire Lord, was on their side. Hence, Tu-yin decided to continue what the previous Avatar, her lover, had left off--stopping the Fire Nation‘s vicious goals and bringing peace to the world. But she had to be strong. Thus, in the succeeding years, Tu-Yin immersed herself in continuous rigid training with her Earthbending, until she became a master. And with the current Avatar, which is still technically her lover, spiritual identity-wise, inclining towards the greedy exploits of the Fire Nation, it seems Tu-Yin is up for the greatest dilemma of her life. ❚ Tu-Yin has a pet badgermole named Yin-Yin. ❚ Tu-Yin plans on founding a faction of Earthbender soldiers, freelancers and other interested parties for the foreboding war. Although yet unnamed, it aims on preparing the nation on expected Fire Nation invasions by creating tunnels beneath bordering Earth Kingdom territories for the advantage of the Resistance. (Much like the Viet Cong of South Vietnam 8Dd) Special Abilities (Benders) BENDING ELEMENT : Earth SCOPE OF BENDING : As a master earthbender, Tu-Yin holds a remarkable control on a wide spectrum of techniques in the earthbending arsenal. The basic skills such as levitating, shattering, upheaving and sinking a piece or slab of earth, she performs with ease. Creating ground effects such as fissures, quicksands, dust clouds and significant tremblings also seem to be elementary to her knowledge. Likewise, adhering chunks of earth to her body or selected body parts such as her fist, to form rock armors and gauntlets/gloves, respectively, proves to be a smooth feat for her. This skill of enveloping herself with earth is especially helpful whenever she aims to walk and crawl on oblique or totally horizontal earthy surfaces as it allows her to do so. With greater effort, Tu-Yin is capable of larger scale earthbending such as raising earth columns, walls and boulders. She is also able to create waves of rock and soil both for transportation and for combat. Part of her master level bending is to bend earth derivatives such as coals, crystals, mud and sand, as she could bend them just like solid earth. As for metalbending, the only thing she could do for the moment is to create dents and folds in a move similar to shattering a piece of rock. She has yet to master full manipulation of these semi-purified alloys.
