This side is probably only seen by her disciples. ❚ Kind... in a sense - despite being hardened by the losses of her loved ones and deaths practically occurring on the Temple's doorsteps, she was once known for her kindness. Of late, it has not been so clearly seen except by her students (meaning its still there... somewhere). This mostly extends to those she regards in a positive light. NEGATIVE TRAITS ❚KuuTsunDere - A two layer armor formed in response to relationships/interaction. 1st Layer of armor: You're probably gonna get the 'you're gonna die' kind of glare if you piss her off. Usually applies to strangers and acquaintances. 2nd layer: You will probably get killed off if you piss her off. Usually applies to students. (has traces of Kuu... so the glare stays). 3rd layer / Inner Sanctum: undefined. has never been seen except by the dead (family) and a rare intruder who is quickly made to forget. i.e. Vulnerable moments, bath time, etc. ❚ Extremist (or maybe non-conformist) - at least in the context of their people. She was not always like this but ever since her brother died and with the Avatar army encroaching on the borders of the Temple, she has been an advocate of helping out in the war (Alliance Supporter). Partly through her efforts, the Air Benders have been allowed to aid the Alliance defensively (and that is enough for her) so this trait is not exactly a bad trait... at least in the general view of survival. ❚ Strict - despite her stance, Kiri has and will always be strict regarding education. ❚ Deadly Hotheaded - when she's in a bad mood, you're going to die... in more ways than one~ If she hates you,she ignores you (Don't mind the ice dagger eyes~). If she likes you and you make her pissed, refer to number 1... to a lesser extent. ❚ Stoic - After the attack, she has had to suppress her emotions behind an icy facade though this does not mean her fiery spirit has been quenched in the least. Rather it's been bumped up to thoughts and the 'occasional' (which may not be so occasional) outburst. ❚ Mistrustful - (only towards) the Fire Nation or anyone formerly affiliated with it (includes the Avatar and his army) - something to do the massacre of her people at the onset of the Avatar's break-off from the Fire Nation. ❚ Not a morning person - woe to any that wakes her up or is there when she does wake up. (-) the Avatar (-) Being helpless (-) Cockroaches or rather their equivalent in the Avatar universe. Came from a childhood trauma that may or may not be revealed later on. HISTORY ❚ Has lived in the Western Air Temple since she was 5. Before then she was traveling with her family at least until her mother died. Her father brought her to the Western Air Temple to train while he brought her brother to the Southern Air Temple. They visited her whenever they could until the day their father had to leave for unknown reasons (a bit after the Avatar's 16th birthday). He never came back. ❚ A devastated Kiri channeled her grief into her studies, quickly rising through the ranks of monks, becoming Head Monk at the age of 23... a year before the Avatar army attacked (yay semi-cliche line~) ❚ 3 years before THE PRESENT... The Avatar army conquered the Sun Warriors Isle and immediately advanced towards the Western Air Temple. The initial onslaught can only be called a massacre and in the midst of this, her brother who was worried about his little sister (and under the guise of a visit) was killed in the ensuing battle while trying to defend a little boy. The air nomads pushed back, surprising their enemies with a ferocity so unbefitting their pacifist nature. Still, many air benders either lost their lives or lost their ability to bend (due to abandoning their upheld principles to the chains of anger) that day. Kiri was saved from that fate by her brother's last words (which I shall keep secret for now since I can't think of anything for future plot purposes). ❚ Since then, there have been constant skirmishes between the Western Air Nomads (along with some reinforcements from the other temples) and the Avatar army although the Avatar has not come close to breaching the Temple's defenses. OTHER FACTS ❚ Her sword style was learned from a collection of scrolls that she found or bought for over a decade. She adapted it into her air bending style. The original style is said to have come from a legendary Fire Nation warrior; some even say it was the Avatar from a time long past. ❚ Her mother's heirlooms were given to her at the age of 11. ❚ She took in the boy whom her brother saved. Despite his disabilities, he quickly learned almost all of what she taught him. A prodigy if she was to say which was rare since she rarely praised people (...she never actually told him that directly). ❚ Her relationship with 'Fullmetal" or Ed is quite different from her current stoic self. It is a semblance of her personality from when her father or brother was around, with a lot of thwackings and hot-headed debates. Similar to the relationship of Izumi and the Elric brothers from FMA. ❚ Her stand against the Avatar army has earned her the nickname Lotus of the West partially in connection to the locket she always wears. ❚ Known to be quite dangerous after bad Council Meetings (which is quite often). Special Abilities (Benders) BENDING ELEMENT : Air SCOPE OF BENDING : Trainer Level Airbending - Includes all basic skills of Airbending and maybe a variant/lesser versions of certain Master level skills adjusted to Trainer level. Basic Skills (as based on Avatar wiki) Air Shield - Gust of wind that serves as a temporary shield. A quick defense and requires precise timing. Air Barrier - The entire body is surrounded by a dome of air that deflects attacks from all directions. Limited to self. Lasts 1 minute. Cannot deflect colossal projectiles. Air Blast - A close to mid-range proximity attack that pushes everything away. In terms of direction, it is spherical meaning it pushes out in all directions unless the wielder does not wish to. Air Punch / Kick - An offensive move involving a direct pulse or jet of almost solid wind from the hands or feet. Air Swipe - A dual defensive and offensive technique in which an airbender conjures a crescent-shaped construct of solidified air capable of deflecting colossal projectiles and sending them off-course (given enough distance). Air Suction - A technique used to bring people or things towards the airbender. Breath of Wind - Very similar to the standard air jet but created from the mouth and lungs. It requires extremely good breath control to employ effectively. Enhanced Speed and Agility -Speed and agility are enhanced using air bending. Being a trainer, this is above average but not yet master level (unless she's comically pissed) Master Level (adjusted to Trainer level) Trainer Level Tornado - An dual offense/defense technique. All those outside the tornado are blown away, all those in the eye are protected. Can be combined with Sword Air but she has done so only twice. A last resort, it is often dangerous as it leaves her exhausting and vulnerable after. Time Limit: 1 Minute Height: 1 story building Width: Room size Enhanced Air Barrier - A mid-range defensive technique that can briefly block attacks. It can block anything from arrows to spears for a duration and/or a colossal projectile (only) once before dissolving. Different from a normal Air Barrier. Time Limit: 5 Minutes Max Number of People within: 10 People When Master level is reached, this skill gets upgraded to Air Sphere. Special Skills Long Range Sword Air - It is essentially similar to the air slice/swipe of a staff and the air blade. It is sharper than an air swipe (enough to cause lacerations similar to that from a sword slash) and better than a typical air slice due to the mastery of a sword style. While a katana is not a typical air nomad's choice of weapon (because of their tranquil nature), Kiri nonetheless decided on it which is the sole heirloom of her mother. She won't use this unless she has to... Sadly, she has had to on numerous occasions in the past 3 years... WEAPONS : Ame no Ken: Akebono (天刀: 曙 lit. Sword of the Sky: Daybreak) - An heirloom of her mother's. Is said to have been made of a special alloy (no, not from a space rock) whose durability and sharpness is a testament to its fine make but otherwise it has no special abilities... as far as she knew. She also uses it when meditating as it is quite beautiful to look at when unsheathed, clearly reflecting the endless blue sky. Brother's Knife - The other half of her mother's heirloom. It was formerly owned by her brother who inherited it from their father. It was later given to her after her brother's death but sadly the dagger's name has been lost along with her brother's life. Like its sister, it has exceptional sharpness and durability but otherwise no other special abilities... so far. It has been fashioned in such a way that it clearly reflects the starry night sky. Staff - Standard Airbender equipment. She typically uses this when training students. PERSONAL ITEMS : Kimono - Her everyday wear Locket with an engraving of a White Lotus seal - Her father's memento. She knows nothing aside from that. a Messenger Hawk - formerly used for long distance communication with her brother.
