Chi Yon smiled as he heard that she was interested in talking. He slid his foot and opened a door out of the arena. He walked ahead of her his stride powerful despite the fact that his side was hurting like hell.
Chi Yon took her to a small tea shop near the edge of town. He sat down the bag tied to his belt. Chi Yon breathed heavily and coughed slightly. still feeling like his ribs were bruised. In truth the fact that he had a lasting injury from the encounter proved that she was good… though rough around the edges.
“Now whats your name? you never did say what it was, and I would be vary interested in who you are. For instance where did you learn to fight like that?” Chi Yon was interested in who her teacher was, who she was. it had been a long time since someone had actually landed a blow against him. then again it was a long time since he was in that ring so it made sense that he could just be a little a rusty. So the real question he was trying to ask was… did she just feel lucky? Well did she?

Hyun Ok sat down glancing around a bit nervous, but not showing it on her face; she only smiled the swelling of her nose having gone down. She felt herself being able to breathe better and was looking down at her cup of tea. She smiled up at Chi Yon, of course thinking of how she would get out of this if it were to turn bad, she could Mole out, but it was a skill she was not good at, best she could think of was to create a dust cloud and run for it.
“…” she sighed a bit taking a sip of tea, “Well since I’m the defeated one of the two of us, you can have the knowledge of my Name… I am Hyun Ok” she took another sip. “I work… hmm well I work in a prison system. Not anywhere near here, I actually traveled here from my home to get some vacation, had a guard talking about this place so I decided to check it out” she rolled her shoulders. She paused for a moment to think how to word her next statement, “heh I used to be part of a resistance against the Fire Nation, I never earth bended against them though, my family was scared of me to use my bending –Benders were often taken away by the fire nation military stationed near my village- so I forced myself never to do it, but one day my group was attacked and well.. I earth bended to protect myself but sadly I was the only survivor” her smile faded into a sadden look as she sighed taking another sip.
“After that I ran away, joined a small group of bandits, one of which was a rogue fire nation militant. He taught me to defend myself, hence my stance, and well the rest were earth benders who taught me mismatched skills… heh I’m a wild card” she chuckled a bit smiling into her tea as she took a longer sip. She hoped her ‘story’ would explain cover up the lies she told, it was a mix up of what really happened but enough to play off who she was, without really saying who she was. “Also the prisoners I watch are non-benders… I’m not nearly strong enough to be a warden over benders” she suddenly stiffened… she never said she was a Warden, by giving a rank it would be easier to find out she was lying. She coughed a bit and just kept her cup to her lips her cheeks red.

Chi Yon listened to the story it seemed to him that it was a generic plot. But that was the sad story these days, there were many people who were loosing there homes or in prison because of the fire nation. Its kind of how things were in this day and age. So he could understand her story.
Chi Yon nodded as he heard of her teachers from former fire nation, to earth bending bandits. That part seemed almost fantastical but it was still a good story. It was no more fantastical then the son of a respected diplomat running off partaking in earth bending blood sports, and working his way up to becoming a cop.
“That’s vary interesting and it seems to explain a lot about your style. A prison warden, funny how life works out, you spend your youth avoiding prisons only to end up working one. well I have a bit of a busness deal if you wouldn’t mind hearing it?”

Hyun Ok blinked her cheeks still red as she straightened her shoulders. She was surprised that he fell for her story, or that he did not seem to take in note that she gave herself Rank… But she did not look a Gift Ostrich-Horse in the mouth. She pushed a bit of her hair from her face finishing her tea. It oddly was not her favorite tea, The Dragon Rose was a better Tea shop, but sadly she was in the Earth Kingdom. She was far from home and oddly she felt at peace more here then at the Prison.
“What is it you wish to talk about then?” she rose a brow resting her hands on the table; with the frill of her collar she almost gave an appearance of a vulture. She smiled at him kindly, “What kind of business deal?” her smile faltered as she spoke, she knew she could not take any, but… something in her told her to listen to the man, and take it to heart whatever he was going to ask and her to deny the ‘deal’. If it came down to it she would love to just learn a few new bending abilities: maybe that glove thing, yeah that would be cool to have at the prison.

“My offer stands like this. I would like to offer you a position among the Dai Li. If you pass the various background checks, and make it past the one month standard probation, then you would be a welcomed addition to Ba Sing Se’s penultimate police force. if you fail then you will be thrown out of the city or imprisoned somewhere metal where you would never be heard from again.”
This was as it stood a once in a life time opportunity. Chi Yon only recruited the best, and for some reason he could already tell that she was one of the best. still this was an offer if she refused there would be no questions asked, though he would be moderately disappointed.
Chi Yon sat back in his chair feeling that he had explained all that he needed to. it was an offer that in all truth seemed to speak for its self. He half wondered if she would take it, any member of the earth kingdom would love this opportunity this chance. However for some reason he doubted that she would. Something about her just seemed weird and foreign he didn’t know if she would take the offer or not, and that said a lot for a man who was supposed to be an expert at reading others.

Hyun Ok's pale face turned even paler as he gave her the deal. She blinked at him and then looked down at her empty cup and sighed flipping the cup over and pushing it over to the side of the table. It was something she did to signal at her own Tea Shop that she was ready to go. But she did not move she simply sat there resting her chin on the palm of her right hand as she looked at the palm of her hand that had a mix of red scars from both trying to earth bend and an attempt of an attack from a fire bender at her prison. She clenched that hand into a fist and placed it on the table.
"I assume this offer is a god sent in this part of the world?" she chuckled a bit her voice calm and cool. "I can tell you, i won't pass the background check, I've never broken a single law in my life, except maybe my existence." she smirked a bit, but it seemed bitter. "And i already work in a prison of metal so i can safely say I'd rather not end up in one." she smiled at him pushing a bit of her hair from her face. "Maybe if this was another place and time, I'd take up your offer without regrets, without worries, or fears... but" her smile faltered and she slid her gaze to the side, "But At this time, i can no do that.. i am sorry" she shrugged her shoulders.
"Heh maybe in a year or so i can come back, but if i were to seriously take up your offer I'd have tons of bridges to burn." she looked at him with a look of gratitude in her eyes. "Eh who knows i might even be better by then..." she chuckled. "i am grateful for the offer, and i'll pay for this tea as a sign of that" she said pulling out a bit of coin, fire nation coin.

Chi Yon nodded respectfully and didn’t really understand her words, until she offered to pay, and saw her money. His right arm instinctively shot out grabbing her hand catching her before she did anything. seeing her money had caused an instinctive motion in his body.
Chi Yon was not a racist man far from it in fact he would work with anyone so long as they supported peace, and he knew that she was not about to start a fight he sighed, and slowly produced a smile.“Please if you are to take the bill then at least use your winnings from the night. Any other courtesy would be bad for your health.”
As Chi Yon spoke he passed her a bag four hundred gold pieces of the earth country money. He then sat back having a suddenly vary real understanding of who he was talking to. Yet to him it did not really matter he had stated before that any refugee was welcome in the walls of Ba Sing Se so long as they did not bring the war with them which she had clearly not they were welcomed by him. however there were many who did not think this way. and in giving her the money he was probably pro longing her life.
“I understand if you feel that way about my offer, and in time to come I would like to learn more about how that came to be. But you have certainly committed no crime here. So there is no need to question you further. Just remember to be polite and courteous to those of any nation. And to pay with the proper respect, and im sure you will do fine.”
