BENDING
As a someone who resembles a new born, ignorant of the real world to an extent most wouldn't think possible, his abilities are limited. In fact, the only thing he knows how to do is levitating rocks bellow seventy pounds, and up heaving chunks of earth into a torrid of spikes. The distance is small though, and the spikes only reach about his height. He is still practicing and learning, but he hopes one day to learn Plant Bending. And he reads books about it too.

Plant bending is a sub-element of Water bending. I don't think an Earthbender can do it at all, even if he tries to learn it from books or by studying the moves of these benders (which are presumably from the Foggy Swamp Tribe). Not that I'm asking you to take it down, after all, your character is simply 'hoping' to learn it; although I'm afraid such will be a hope in hell.
